Oh you out-of-the-box CEOs you!
The other night, Aaron and I had to go to CVS at 10 pm to get some batteries for our dvd player's remote. You would be amazed at how often we have to go to CVS at such hours. Or, if you've lived with me, you probably would not be amazed. (Sometimes we get stuck there for half-hour upon half-hour in the greeting card aisle, gorging ourselves on bad jokes.) Anyway, this little errand caused Aaron to ask, "What does CVS stand for?" And I was left speechless. Until I conjectured, "Ciao, Von-Sav?" I felt that this was a legitimate guess, because recently all of our SoCal SavOn's (except for the lucky ones inside Albertsons) were taken over by this aisle-carpeted, off-brand-drug-dealing pharmacy chain called CVS. Aaron, ever the more realistic of the two of us, suggested, "It's probably something boring, like Cheap Values Store". I love my Eeyore husband!
So on my way to a meeting with three co-workers yesterday, I mused aloud, "What does CVS stand for?" Jon postulated that it could stand for "Carlos Vincentio Sangria", or something like that. I think he was a bit influenced by the drive-thru Mexican food we were picking up. Garrett the gadgetlover whipped out his little infofinder and typed in my question. Evan, not to be outdone, used 411 to call up CVS in Bellflower. The chick who picked up the phone informed us that it stands for "Consumer Values Store". But Garrett kept us updated by letting us know that the new CVS CEO wants it to stand for "Customer Values Service" (I don't really understand the grammar there). Couldn't they come up with something a little bit more fun? It turns out that Aaron had the best guess, which is fine with me since I totally beat him at the E.L. Fudge pronunciation contest.
What do you think that CVS should stand for?
