Dates
As much as I love being a mom to my precious lil' boy, it's wonderful to get away with Aaron sometimes and be "just us" for a few hours. Tonight, I got to be Aaron's date at his office Christmas party. It wasn't a fancy schmancy romantic outing, but it was fun to just hang out with cool peeps, eat some good food, and laugh a lot. No one can make me laugh like that guy does. I think parenthood has given me a new appreciation for any time I get to spend with my hubby. My definition of a "date" has really broadened. I still love when we go on more traditional dates, but even running an errand together while Owen is with the grandparents can feel special. Heck, even Arby's could work (not Weinerschnitzel though. The Schnitz is where I draw the line. No offense to any readers of German heritage). Aaron, I just gotta say I absolutely love being around you (yes, even when you talk about "boy stuff")!

We're just learning to date with new definitions... and distinctly trying not to talk about our son the whole time! a couple weeks ago, we rented a movie and got some SBUX (big time date night-woo hoo!)
We started the movie at 10:30ish, and David fell asleep around 11:15. We knew we should sleep when he slept, so we paused the movie and went to bed. Around 5am-ish, we were up with him and couldn't sleep, so we watched another 40 minutes of our rented movie until we could sleep some more. We didn't end up finishing our "date-night" movie until about 10:30 the next morning. Date-night redefined...
Dave, we have been there. It's all about the Redbox those first few months! We gotta get together with you guys when you're here and meet little David!
that sounds fun! The schedule seems to be busy as it ought to for an 8-week old baby, but we do plan on trying Bruxië (on your recommendation) for lunch on 12/18 if you wanna join us!
Sounds great! Just call, email, or text us the time you wanna meet... Feel free to just decide on a meeting time that day, I know it can be tough to predict sometimes with a new baby. We'll look forward to it!
