One-way streets

are such a horrible idea.
Aaron and I spent a few days in Seattle for our anniversary. I think we got lost in Seattle more times than we have fought in our entire relationship (and I'm counting the small fights too, like the ones about Subway condiments).
Trying to find our way around Seattle reminded me of playing Memory as a child.
"I could have SWORN it was this card (street)! This game (city layout) SUCKS!"
Fortunately, we didn't go the wrong way down any of the streets/avenues/ways/boulevards, although twice we were close. It wouldn't have been all that bad if we had messed up though, because we were driving a rental Prius and replacing our carbon footprints and saving the WORLD, so who cares if we hit your car?

Then we flew on a plane and started a tire-burning field to offset our carbon offsetting. Yay!

While I love Seattle, I HATE driving in it. Oh my goodness, it is completely confusing and impossible. I've been there probably at least a dozen times, and I still have almost no idea how to get anywhere. And I'm good with directions, usually! Whew. I envy your rental Prius; we just had a rental and it was a Buick that got 23 MPG. BOO.

Yes, one way streets are bad. I agree. However, I think that sitting at a light on a steep hill is far worse when you know far too well that your car will need to roll back before it moves forward upon acceleration.

I miss the Northwest, especially Seattle and the lovely fall weather. I'm still in denial that it's winter now and not fall.
